The Green Bay Packers opened the preseason with a 24-9 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night.

Here are seven takeaways from the victory at Lambeau Field:

1. Trevor Davis might just have run away with the punt return job

Second-year receiver Trevor Davis walked the walk with a 68-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first half. Before training camp started, he sent video of himself catching punts to special coordinator Ron Zook. From the looks of it, Davis likely earned himself a roster spot, the investment has paid dividends. Additionally, provided he keeps delivering in the return game.

2. Jeff Janis’ Modus Operandi is to polarize his fans and critics

He drops an easy catch to convert a first down, and on the next drive he catches a touchdown. The special teams ace continues to show a lack of consistency in the passing game. He’s explosive, especially considering the wide receiver position appears more and more competitive., but he will need to develop some more reliability in his game

3. Rookies Josh Jones, but flash potential,Womens Landon Collins Jersey, Kevin King make mistakes

Struggles in the secondary were more-or-less expected in the first preseason game, especially for such a young group. Josh Jones whiffed on a tackle for a big gain in the second half and Kevin King surrendered an ugly score against Mack Hollins on a strong throw from an elusive Carson Wentz. 5. The defensive line looks stout

It was frustrating to see limited carries amongst the young crop of running backs. Ty Montgomery fumbled, and Jamaal Williams had only a few reps. Spreading time and carries between Montgomery, Williams, Aaron Jones, Devante Mays, William Stanback and Kalif Phillips really limits the reps on which one can be evaluated. McCarthy may have to make some tough decisions sooner than later so a few of these players can showcase their skill.

7. It wouldn’t be football without injuries
