There's a reason why I led my 10 free agents to watch with Eagles tight end Trey Burton. Burton confirmed Monday in an interview with NFL Network that the Lions were among the teams that have reached out to him in free agency.

Burton, author of the Philly Special in the Eagles' Super Bowl win over new Lions coach Matt Patricia's New England Patriots, will have options in free agency, but I found it interesting while going over some Super Bowl notes this morning that former Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky brought Burton's name up unprompted as a potential fit when I talked to him on radio row.

"I’ve seen that offense be really successful when they have a tight end that can do both things (block and catch passes)," Orlovsky said of the Lions. "Will it be Eric? I don’t know. Can they get a Burton from Philly in free agency or like (a Tyler) Eifert from Cincy, can he stay healthy? Because once you have a tight end who consistently can be that problem, that’s when the offense really goes to the next level. That’s what you see in New England, that’s what you see in Philadelphia."

In the least stunning news of free agency, Drew Brees is back with the New Orleans Saints, according to multiple reports. The Minnesota Vikings reportedly reached out to Brees in free agency, but Brees was never going to leave New Orleans and their quarterback search appears to remain fixed on Kirk Cousins.

Case Keenum, who led the Vikings to the championship game last season, is headed to the Denver Broncos, which means Minnesota's options to start next year are down to Cousins, Sam Bradford and Teddy Bridgewater.

Cousins is clearly the best of those options, and if the Vikings land him they'll be the NFC North favorites again. If they miss out, the division will be wide open for the taking, and general manager Rick Spielman will have some explaining to do.

Killebrew didn't have much of an impact in his second season last year, and the Lions' top three safeties are Glover Quin, Wilson and Diggs. This is a strong safety class and I wouldn't be shocked if the Lions drafted a free safety to replace Quin a year or two from now. Killebrew has some work to do if his role is ever going to expand beyond the dime package wonder he was as a rookie.

it's clear the team has some trepidation about giving second-year cornerback Teez Tabor a full-time role.,NFL Network on Monday essentially predicted Butler's recruitment would come down to the Lions and Houston Texans. Despite what Quinn said about filling the Lions' void in the secondary internally

I would, too, considering how limited Tabor's playing time was last year,Authentic Kendell Beckwith Jersey, but let's not forget Quinn's misdirection the next time he's asked about his team's plans on the eve of free agency.

As for Butler, again going through some old notes,Authentic DeSean Jackson Jersey, I came across a January conversation I had with the cornerback when I was out in New England for the AFC championship game.

Here's what Butler had to say about Patricia as a coach: "I just really like Matty P as a person. He's a tough coach. He’s tough on his players. He likes to talk (smack) to us and get on our ass, laugh, but once work is done,Authentic Vernon Hargreaves III Jersey, he’s just that guy, that nice sweet – he’s a guy that (can) talk, joke,Womens Vernon Hargreaves III Jersey, take a break from football for a minute until it’s time to play football. He’s very smart. He wants the best of you. His players can relate to him. I think all his players he coached like him. I know I like him. One of the best defensive coordinators I ever (had).”

The Seahawks saw their second free agent find a new home on the open market Tuesday, tight end Jimmy Graham reportedly signing a three-year deal with the Green Bay Packers,Authentic Donovan Smith Jersey, according to multiple reports.

Graham is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday. Multiple reports have suggested he would not return to the Seahawks in 2018.

The 31-year-old tight made the Pro Bowl in 2016 and '17, though his tenure is in Seattle has been viewed as underwhelming, perhaps a product of his lofty salary and inconsistency outside of the red zone.

Receiver Paul Richardson,Womens Roberto Aguayo Jersey, also scheduled to become a free agent, reportedly agreed to a five-year, $40 million contract with the Washington Redskins on Tuesday.

In 2017, Graham caught a team-high 10 touchdowns, all in the red zone, which tied for second-most in the league. However, his 520 receiving and 9.1 yards per reception were some of the lowest marks of his career.

Still, Graham was considered one of the best non-quarterback free agents available. In fact, Kevin Seifert ranked the top 100 free agent prospects for 2018, listing Graham fifth behind Kirk Cousins, Drew Brees, Case Keenum and offensive guard Andrew Norwell."

" Seifert wrote. "His 10 touchdown receptions in 2017 were tied for second in the league. Someone will see major value there.",Although he never matched his early-career production after the 2015 trade to the Seahawks -- in part because of a serious patellar tendon injury that season -- Graham remains a major weapon in the red zone

as the New York Giants also picked up Los Angeles Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree and a 2019 seventh-round pick for a 2018 fourth-rounder and sixth-rounder on Wednesday.,They weren't the only team at the top of the 2018 NFL draft order making trades

It will be interesting to see what these two teams do at the top of the first round, as it will obviously have a seismic effect on the rest of the order. Until then, here's a look at a new mock as well as how picks and movement at the top of the draft could affect the Buffalo Bills.

McCown and Bridgewater will be joined by another new face in the backfield, former Cleveland Browns running back Isaiah Crowell, a league source told Adam Schefter. Also, the Jets have agreed to sign Washington Redskins center Spencer Long to a four-year contract, a source told Schefter. CBS first reported an agreement between the Jets and Long.

they will strongly consider a quarterback with the sixth pick in the draft. Holdovers Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty could be out of jobs once the overhaul is complete.,The Jets may not be done at the quarterback position. Because McCown and Bridgewater are signed for only one year

He was sidelined for 14 months during his recovery and placed on the PUP list, where he spent the first six weeks of the 2017 season. He was medically cleared to return to practice and, from Weeks 10-17,Womens Kendell Beckwith Jersey, served as the backup to Case Keenum. The only game action he saw last season came in the fourth quarter of a blowout victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

thus allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent.,The Vikings chose to not toll Bridgewater's rookie contract

The Jets identified Bridgewater and McCown as their Plan B option before they entered into talks with Cousins.

In 2017, McCown set career marks for completions (267),Womens DeSean Jackson Jersey,Authentic Noah Spence Jersey, yards (2,926) and touchdown passes (18). He also tied for the team lead with five rushing touchdowns. He posted a passer rating higher than 100 in eight games, the second most by a Jets quarterback in a single season.

McCown's season ended prematurely after he suffered a fractured left hand,Womens Noah Spence Jersey, which required surgery,Authentic Roberto Aguayo Jersey, in a Week 14 loss to the Denver Broncos. Despite the abbreviated campaign, McCown was voted team by his Jets teammates. They went 5-8 with him in the lineup -- and failed to win a game after his injury.

McCown, who turns 39 on July 4,Womens Donovan Smith Jersey, is the ultimate journeyman, having played for eight different teams since entering the league in 2002. McCown, Julius Peppers and Dwight Freeney were the only players from the 2002 draft still playing in 2017.
